The Adventures of Tenali Raman

Tenali Raman is India's first animated 2d series. It takes a trip through history to a world of monarchs and palaces. It is based on the character from Indian folklore, Tenali. An intellectual and witty Tenali Raman is a courtier in King Krishnadevaraya's court, who brings justice and triumphs over his adversaries by his wit and charm.

The story unfolds on the insight of Tenali Raman's desire to outwit the Rajguru at every turn, and become the royal court jester of Vijayanagara. The king Krishnadevaraya is impressed by Raman's wit, and appoints him as the king's royal jester. Raman, therefore, accomplishes both these ends, with his clever schemes.

Rajguru has a slave bonded by a contract, which states that the slave cannot free himself from servitude unless he pays the mentioned amount of gold coins to Rajguru. The issue is brought to the kind King Krishnadevaraya, but the he is helpless due to the influence of the contract. Raman feels compassionate towards the servant, and volunteers to serve Rajguru instead. What is Tenali's plan?

As the people of the palace in Vijayanagara celebrate, an intruder startles the crowd when he tries to kill the king. The king's horses are unable to catch up with the intruder's horse, and the king makes a hasty decision to buy horses from Rajguru's mysterious trader. Will Tenali Raman be successful in alerting the king of the Trader's plans, and his identity?

As Tenali cotinues to enlighten the kingdom of Vijayanagara with his wisdom, Rajguru seems to despise his talents and wishes to bring him down. Soon, Rajguru finds two thieves to steal and outwit Tenali but Tenali has already discovered the plan. Tenali creates his own plan of fooling the thieves. Will Tenali be successful in defeating Rajguru and the thieves.

Tenali Raman is astounded by Artikula Mola's poetry, and refuses to accept her as a genius. As Rajguru senses a smoldering ember of envy within Tenali, he requests the king to allow Artikula to recite poems, in order to fuel the envious feelings within Tenali. Will Tenali accept her as a genius, or fall for Rajguru's act?

Krishnadevaraya's bed-ridden mother's last wish is a mango. The emperor's Brahmin, Rajguru, sends the guards to search for mangoes, but the emperor's mother passes away. Seizing the opportunity, Rajguru tells the king to gift all the Brahmins a golden mango each, to let his mother's soul rest in peace. Not one to let his king get fooled so easily, Tenali comes up with a smart plan.

As the army of the Northern Emperor approaches Vijayanagara, Tenali is challenged with the impossible task of re-writing the entire epic of Mahabharata, featuring the Emperor Krishnadevaraya as the hero. How will Tenali complete this daunting task, and save the kingdom?

When the Rajguru faces humiliation at the court for his poor dancing skills, he leaves in disappointment and pledges to learn how to dance. But when a witch directs him to a Ganesh temple, he gets the answer for his problem from Lord Ganesh himself.

When a puppeteer arrives in town, an immensely impressed Krishnadevaraya makes the puppet shows a permanent attraction. But when Rajguru plans to get rid of Tenali with the puppeteer's help, he finds out the scary truth about this mysterious man.

Having been replaced by a puppeteer as the main entertainment in the court, Tenali Raman is heartbroken. Meanwhile, the Rajguru and Tingri have been turned into puppets and are trying to escape to ask King Krishnadeva for help. But they are dragged straight to Tenali Raman by Sundari the cat. Tenali realises that the king is in danger and sets out to save him from being turned into a puppet.

It is a peaceful day in the kingdom of Vijayanagara and the birthday of Tenali Raman, the king leans over his balcony and contemplates on Raman's birthday gift. He asks for Rajguru's help to come up with a good idea, the jealous and evil Rajguru comes up with an evil plan.

After being humilaited at the royal court, Rajguru plans to avenge his humiliation and kill Raman. He learns tricks from the masquerade book to finish off Raman. However, his plan backfires when Raman, who is more intelligent and clever, exposes him.

In the royal court of Vijayanagara, the northern king arrives and challenges the southern subjects to a wrestling match. Tenali Raman agrees to fight the match because of the fear of humiliation. The next day Raman is set to fight his gigantic opponent, though weak in comparison to the giant's strength, will his wit and intelligence prevail?

An angry Rajguru drives Tingari away from the palace but later when he returns, he is not the same. He is possessed by an alien, and he threatens to kill and devour the King. Can Tenali Raman save the King from this alien?

Rajguru suggests to a worried King Krishnadevaraya to send Tenali Raman to heaven to bring the news of his forefathers. Even after burning down his body, to Rajguru's surprise, Tenali Raman returns from the dead to teach him a lesson.

An evil fakir possesses the king, and plans to get rid of the intelligent Tenali Raman, and Rajguru. The duo get stranded on the strange Yoga island, from where they see no hope of coming back. Will Tenali and Rajguru be able to find their way back to Vijayanagara, and foil the fakir's plan?

On hearing about the Flying machine, the king Krishnadevaraya wants one for himself. He appoints Rajguru in charge of building his own flying machine, but he misuses the power and money to tend to his own needs. Tenali uses Rajguru's self-obsession against him to teach him a lesson.

A Phantom haunts the city of Vijaynagara and terrorises its people. One night, when Rajguru is attacked by the Phantom, he promises him all the gold of the royal treasury in hopes to save himself. Tenali has a witty plan to get them out of this mess.

Despite the King's warning, Tenali plays tricks on Rajguru and ends up being locked in the dungeons. With Tenali locked up and the surprise attack of the northern emperor, the King has to call for Tenali's help and thus realises his importance.

The Northern Emperor is set to arrive for a peace treaty, and is to be housed in the new palace. When made fun of his lack of knowledge in art, Tenali decides to paint a part of the new palace. Watch to see what Tenali's art achieves!
