Following a friend’s advice, Liang Dai Wen attends a stand-up comedy show. By day, Gu Yi works as an editor at a magazine; by night, she performs stand-up at Ounce. She confidently tells her friend Yu Du Le, who also works part-time at Ounce, that she will get the whole crowd laughing that evening. Unfortunately for her, seated right in the front row is Liang Dai Wen, who is incapable of laughing. No matter how hard Gu Yi tries, he just won't crack a smile.

Guan Xing Xin reluctantly takes the job her adoptive parents arranged for her at a magazine company. Zhang Jun Jie hadn’t expected such an “odd character” to show up, and Gu Yi feels even more disheartened.

Gu Yi wakes up in Ounce with no memory of Liang Dai Wen bringing her home. They run into each other by chance at the sports park, where Liang Dai Wen gets hit by a flying basketball yet still shows no expression at all.

Gu Yi boldly shares about her unrequited love on stage, and even her mother's past, how she loved and hated without holding back. As Liang Dai Wen, Xu Guan Rui, and Wang Mei Xia listen from the audience, each feeling a bitter, uncomfortable mix of emotions.

Gu Yi teaches Liang Dai Wen how to use metaphors to express emotions. In exchange, Liang Dai Wen asks Gu Yi not to go on a blind date, and Gu Yi agrees.

Gu Yi works overtime for the selection of chief editor for the sub-journal, and Liang Dai Wen lets her practice presentations with him. The next day, he gifts her a small wooden cat as encouragement.

Gu Yi wakes up in the middle of the night and finds Liang Dai Wen sleepwalking. Later, she dreams of a young Mei Xia performing on stage. Liang Dai Wen and Yu Du Le find Gu Yi at the abandoned Ounce, who is having a breakdown because of Mei Xia's illness.

Liang Dai Wen arrives at his father's house, and a flood of memories rushes back. The girlfriend his mother once envisioned for him happens to align perfectly with Gu Yi.

Xu Guan Rui gives his blessing to Gu Yi and Liang Dai Wen's relationship. He even goes on stage to sing Errenzhuan to make Gu Yi happy while confessing his feelings for Gu Yi.

Amid the warm atmosphere of a family gathering, Gu Yi thinks of Mei Xia and can't hold back her tears.

The plagiarism controversy resurfaces. Liang Dai Wen visits Zhang Qing Ya and expresses his sincere gratitude. His reputation crisis has been successfully resolved.
