1. The Origin
On July 29, 1925, Irineu Marinho launched the evening newspaper "O GLOBO" and died 23 days later. Roberto, his eldest son, took over the newspaper's management and began modernizing it.
2. The Newspaper and the Dictatorship
In editorials, Roberto Marinho supports the 1964 military coup but personally defends his communist employees. Devoting himself to TV Globo, he hires Evandro Carlos de Andrade as editor-in-chief.
3. The Return of Democracy
With the return to democracy, Roberto Marinho expanded his political influence, and "O Globo" became Rio's leading newspaper. Major news coverage made history. In 1995, Evandro took charge of the TV news division.
4. Present and Future
Following Marinho's death, his children take over the Group, which faces the challenges of 21st-century journalism. The newspaper deepens its modernization, becomes the country's largest, and distinguishes itself through major news coverage.
