Biography
Dennis Franz (born October 28, 1944, in Maywood, Illinois) is an American actor best known for portraying Detective Andy Sipowicz on the television series NYPD Blue, a role that earned him four Primetime Emmy Awards. He also played Lt. Norman Buntz on Hill Street Blues and appeared in several films directed by Brian De Palma, including Dressed to Kill (1980), Blow Out (1981) and Body Double (1984).
