Eduardo, a middle-aged man, receives news that compels him to abandon everything and return to his hometown in Patagonia. His deepest affections, his sorrows, his fears resurface in memories of those years as if they were the causes of the destiny he imposed upon himself, transforming him into who he is; placing him at the beginning—which is also the end—of a futile life disguised as success.
